can I just say that it breaks my heart a little that *everything* except these two is considered a rarepair? pffft. diversity in shipping! variety is the spice of life!

um so I wasn't even going to join this comm but what the hell. I kinda want to suggest Sixteen and a Half Months (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1112580) by emmagrant101 because I just read it and it is currently my favorite non-johnlock fic. and I have some ideas for discussion topics, possibly.

I'm going to recommend Tremors of the Heart by Taylorpotato this time around. It's Holmescest, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it wasn't my cup of tea either until I read this particular fic.

Thank you for the rec! I admit, the summary didn't appeal to me the first time I scrolled over it on the archive, but it's beautiful.

Holmescest should be a category in its own right. I need this like air.

I'm going to recommend La condition humaine (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1813015) by the utterly brilliant neurotoxia and not only because it remixes my work. It's a Tattoo!lock AU in the 1st person POV (but don't let that bother you) that manages to capture the turmoil in Sherlock's head in stunning detail. Her prose makes the characters come alive.

It's not a major story, it doesn't involve most S/L popular kinks, but it's entertaining and interesting for discussion of character, humor, pacing, sex. Humor and hot is hard.

Irene/Sherlock, and John/Mary

I'd love to nominate The Curious Case of the Boy in the Raincoat, which is both Irene/Sherlock and John/Mary mystery/adventure with a side of Nero Wolfe, and a lot of John POV (perhaps better to say his descent into disbelieving madness) and a lot of exploring John and Sherlock's friendship.

Unfortunately, being the beta for the fic means I'm pretty certain it'd be a little conflict-of-interest-y if I ran a discussion on it. So I'd really love to solicit someone who isn't conflicted to run a discussion on it!
